Part of the charm of a good story is that you can identify with the characters, and feel like you are having an adventure right along with them. Well what if the character in the story was you or your little one? "The First Adventures of Incredible You" offers your child the opportunity to have a story book just about them, full of familiar names and places. We had seen customized books before, but had always found that the story line was lacking or the overall quality left something to be desired. Still we are always game for a good bedtime read, so when the authors offered us a chance to have our very own personalized book to review, we couldn't pass it up.

The results ... tears, smiles and warm, fuzzy feelings. The delight on our tiny tester's little face when the first page was read featuring his name was priceless. Not to mention the thrill we felt reading a book featuring names, places and details that are near and dear to our hearts.

The verdict ... not only will this book become a bedtime staple, it will be a treasured keepsake for years to come. It's lyrical text combined with bright and colorful illustrations make this the best personalized book we have ever come across. The seamless entry of personal details into the text make it hard to believe that they weren't always intended to be there.

Top Trendy Review - "Seabands"

While the wind tousled look is made glamorous in movies, the unfortunate reality is that most of us end up with a tangly, knotty mess in our face. Not very stylish. What's a girl to do? That's why we were so intrigued when Seabands came across our desk. Created by a Mom, Seabands offers funky prints and the claim to provide flawless hair days for girls everywhere. We just had to try it out. So one sunny day we put the top down and went for a drive.

The results...perfection! Our Seaband stayed put and so did our tiny tester's hair. The band was comfortable and didn't slip. The soft cotton fabric was in a bright hip print that was easily coordinated with our tiny tester's outfit. What more could a girl ask for?

The verdict...dare we say it?? Flawless hair ... or as close as you will get with five year old after a windy drive, a day at the beach and a sticky, drippy ice cream cone. The best part though was no tangles. Our Mommy tester loved the fact that the Seaband helped keep her daughter's hair in place all day, allowing for a scream-free brush out before bedtime.

Our conclusion is that Seabands are a must have accessory of the summer. Available in tons of modern prints, there are sizes for big and little girls, as well as classic and reversible styles.  Now your only problem will be deciding which one!

Top Trendy Review - "Laugh & Learn DVDs"

They always say that you learn more when you are having fun or at least that is the idea behind the Laugh and Learn DVD series. Created by the well accredited Sheri Bayles, the series offers insight and instruction on everything baby from delivery and breastfeeding to bathing and diaper changes, but would we laugh? Is is possible to be educated and entertained at the same time? We popped the popcorn and settled in for movie night to find out.

The results ... we laughed. Out loud actually. Sheri presents the truths of pregnancy and parenthood in a warm and humorous manner while still giving valuable advice and information. The dvds are filmed in an informal class setting so you feel like you are actually part of a group rather than the audience at a lecture. While we recommend that you watch the whole dvd, the chapter layout makes it easy to skip around or replay sections where you might have missed something.

The verdict ... no worries if you missed lamaze class. After a couple of hours with Sheri you will be a pro or at least well prepared and requiring a bit of practise. Her easy manner comforts anxieties and gives you the confidence to tackle the new and exciting challenges of motherhood. Not that the guys are left out. The Laugh and Learn series would be a great movie night for new or expecting parents, giving them a chance to learn together in the comfort of their own home.

So we are proud to say that we are giving the Laugh and Learn DVD series the Top Trendy seal of approval. That's right folks, we are now up there with all the other Laugh and Learn celebrity fans like Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera and Halle Berry. Not bad company if you ask us!

Top Trendy Review - "Glamorous Girl Hair Clips"

After searching for unique accessories for her two little girlies and coming up short, the clever creator of Glamorous Girl Accessories began designing her own. Of course we were all thrilled when this designing mama invited us to take a closer look. As with all hair clips we were skeptical of the quality of this little delights. Many clips claim to be properly finished, yet never quite deliver the well constructed product we expect. Would Glamorous Girl clips be any different?

  The results ... immediately upon opening our package of goodies we were pleasantly surprised with the professional appearance and presentation of the Glamorous Girl clips. All raw ribbon edges were sealed, the embellishments were securely fastened, and the clips were neatly attached to a mod Glamorous Girl card.

The verdict ... our tiny tester looked positively adorable modeling this set of clips and loved every minute of it. The only hiccup was that our lucky little tester had fine hair so our test clips slipped a little in her hair throughout the day. No worries though, while our set did not have it, all Glamorous Girl clips are available with non-slip material if requested, and our Mommy tester said that the clips were so cute she didn't mind the occasional adjustment anyway.

Over at Glamorous Girl Accessories they take great pride in the quality and craftmanship of their products and it shows! Their hair clips easily earned the Top Trendy seal of approval and would make a fabulous gift for any lucky little (or big) girl.

Top Trendy Review - "The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide"

Fresh off the press from Heather Maclean, the founder of Baby Gizmo, comes a new guide for Moms. Rather than the typical "what to buy" book, the new Baby Gizmo Buying Guide features a "how to buy" format that includes advice on whether you really need a product, when to buy it and how long your baby will use it. It claims to be a real life, everything you need to know resource that will be every expectant parent's favorite book. So what did our Mommy testers think?

The breakdown...our Mommy testers really appreciated the easy alphabetical organization of the book and feature headings such as Educational Benefits, Safety, Price and the "Why we like it" and "Why we don't" portions. Also handy were the quick reference blocks with the recommendation sections featuring "don't need","nice to have" or "must have". For the finishing touch the last few chapters even includes helpful tips, lists and a dictionary of baby item terms.

The verdict...with so many items on the market, and so much advice coming from all directions, it is nice to finally have a book that does all of the leg work for you. New and expectant mothers will especially appreciate the peace of mind that all the safety info will give them.

All in all, The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide is a fun, interesting read that is great for new or expecting moms who want to prepare for their new arrival. Even some of our veteran Mommy testers learned a few new tricks!

Top Trendy Review - "Sweet Beans Diaper Dust"

Over at the Sweet Beans Shop they claim that "this elegantly simple diaper rash remedy will amaze you with its power." I will admit we were skeptical at first. Could this unassuming sand colored powder really be the miracle cure for our poor little tester's beastly diaper rash? Well nothing else had worked to mend her baby's delicate little bottom, so our brave Mommy tester gave it a try.

The results...within a day or so of using Sweet Beans Diaper Dust our little tester was noticeably more comfortable and happy. His poor little tushie also was showing significant improvement much to his Mom's delight. After a week of being sprinkled in Diaper Dust our pint size tester's bottom was smooth and sweet once again.

The verdict...our Mommy tester says she will never be without Sweet Beans Diaper Dust again! After trying every remedy available on the market and a few concoctions cooked up at home, the Diaper Dust was by far the best and only cure for her sensitive sweetie.
